This town is a sports town. We all know this to be true. We do enjoy other things now and again, though, in this city. Some of the best gifts for Pittsburghers near and far can be found online, or in a store near you, if you live in Pittsburgh, that is. There is so much to see in this landscape-filled town, so get someone the gift of the view off of Mount Washington, or ice skating at PPG. What more could you ask for from a dazzling Steel City like ours?
–Sports Gifts: Get your ‘Burgher a terrible towel, a Pens ugly Christmas sweater, or a Pirates tee, and they are guaranteed to be pleased.
–Pittsburgh Dad Gifts: I know; I am always promoting Pittsburgh Dad gifts, but who doesn’t want a DVD full of all of his hilarious skits, or a shirt with “I <3 Deb” scrolled on it? If you don’t get it, you didn’t have a Pittsburgh Dad, and I can’t help you.
–Primanti’s Sandwiches: Our day has come, Pittsburgh. Now, instead of sharing pictures of our Primanti’s sandwiches every time we go there via text or email with out-of-towners, we can share the love. The Primanti Bros. love, that is. You have your choice of meat, Red Devil Hot Sauce, and even a t-shirt with this delightful Primanti’s Party Pack.
–A subscription to the Post-Gazette: I know this is one of the things my Dad missed the most when he left Pittsburgh to travel across the country for his job. We got him a subscription for the paper that was sent to Minnesota at the time. I can’t imagine how happy he was to see him hometown paper every day in another state far, far away from here.
–Cookies: Everyone likes cookies. Period. Also, we have so many unique ones here in Pittsburgh. Dress them up with a bow and put them in a mason jar, and you’ll be good to go! And while most people wouldn’t call what’s in the link above a “cookie” per se, we Pittsburghers would. It’s our specialty.
–A trip to PPG: Skating at PPG is an experience unlike any other. With all of the lights and decorations downtown, along with the monster of a tree you circle around while skating, you will be yinzer heaven (and out-of-towners love to visit this place, also).
–A gift card to an awesome restaurant in town: Burgatory, The Melting Pot, and Nakama are just a few of the unique restaurants this great city has to offer. Have a restaurant that you know all of your friends haven’t made it to quite yet? Why not get them a gift card to go there with their significant other?
–A Carnegie Museum Membership: This will grant someone special admission to all of the best museums in town for a year, including the Andy Warhol Museum, the Carnegie Science Center, The Carnegie Museum of National History, and more.
If your fellow or native Pittsburgh friend or family member is not happy with any of these gifts, their ‘Burgher card will be confiscated promptly. Good luck shopping, and Happy Holidays to all of you Pittsburghers, and everyone else, too!
