When you’re looking for something to do on a Sunday night, you have a limited selection, because many places close early. So when you have visitors in, or are just bored on a Sunday night, consider doing some of the things on the following list from one Pittsburgher to another.
–Go to a Steelers game. While Steelers tickets may be expensive for more sought-out game nights, spending time at Heinz Field is probably not something you get to do every day. Checking out a game with friends and/or family could quite possibly be the best night you have all week. Checking out a Pens game sounds like an awesome option to me, too.
–Check out Reddit and the local newspapers for listings of weekend and seasonal events. Things on this list may only happen once in a blue moon, so why not check them out while you can? For example, The Waterfront had a fall festival this last weekend, and soon Fright Nights will be open to take part in, also.
–See a movie. The movies are pretty empty on Sunday nights for those of you out there who don’t watch every Steelers game. There is almost always something good in the theaters, and you won’t have to fight the crowds on Sundays, as long as there is a game on at the same time.
–Go visit a Pittsburgh landmark. PPG, The Point, and Mount Washington are not going anywhere anytime soon, so take your lady out to somewhere nice and show her the sights! You won’t get surrounded by people, and these things are always free to visit.
–Eat some of our delicious Pittsburgh Cuisine. This is your chance to try out Burgatory or McCormick & Schmick’s. D’s Six Pax and Dogz is another hidden gem in Regent Square. These places do not disappoint.
When all else fails on the weekend, at least you won’t strike out this Sunday night!
