Ugly Penguins Christmas sweater, anyone?
Jon Hamm was quoted with saying our city’s skyline is “absolutely gorgeous”. Hamm and Rinku Singh, Pittsburgh Pirates player, were at PNC park yesterday fielding questions and promoting their new movie, Million Dollar Arm, which is slated to start showing in theaters this week on May 16th. The movie is about J.B. Bernstein, a sports agent who discovered some of the most legendary players from India, Singh and Dinesh Patel, and brought them to California to play in the minor league baseball system, which eventually led to them playing for the Pittsburgh Pirates in the minor league.
This was Hamm’s first time in Pittsburgh, but it didn’t last long. After promotions yesterday, he had to head back for filming of Mad Men.
“I think a big part of the story of the movie is hard work.” Hamm proclaimed, stating that part of it is “the work that these guys put in, which is epic in scope—never having touched a baseball to being prospects at the major league level in under a year is the stuff of fiction, but it actually happened.” …And the Mad Men ended his visit eloquently…
