From Hearst Castle to the rolling hills and wineries to the famous Bubble Gum Alley, there are countless landmarks around this town that you should not miss out on if at all possible. This place was touted as being the happiest city in America, and I can definitely see why.
When running around town, you are hit with endless beaches nearby and numerous people-watching locations. The people-watching here is very different from Pittsburgh, though. Beach bums are rampant, along with stray college kids and middle-aged parents, which surfers seem to get along with just the same.
Voted in by a round of peers, Avila is the best and closest beach to visit. Ventana Grill in Pismo Beach is the most put-together restaurant around, with the best wait staff personalities and amazing eats. The Frog and Peach Pub and SLO Brew were found to have the most unique beers around.
In Hepkat Clothing and Beauty Parlor, you can find stylish old-fashioned heels and clothing, and a photo booth, too. Sumo Sushi was voted best sushi, and the farmer’s market is the most fun thing to do on a Thursday night, with different themes every week, featuring new personas every time you go.
